How to spend 48 hours in Crosslake

48 hours isn’t a lot of time but if you’ve only got a weekend to spare, Crosslake is the perfect place to travel… conveniently located in central MN a few hours from pretty much any major city. Surrounded by lakes on all sides with a sprinkle of golf courses, hiking & off-road vehicle trails along with eclectic shopping, we pretty much have something for everyone.

Start your trip by checking into either Whitefish Lodge or Manhattan Beach Lodge. Both offer great fall specials. Whitefish Lodge offers 54 cabin style rooms in the heart of town and located on the 11th hole of Crosswoods golf course. Manhattan Beach Lodge offers 19 lakeside rooms on the shores of Big Trout Lake of the Whitefish Chain of Lakes and attached to Manhattan’s Bar and Restaurant.

After check in take in a late lunch at one of the many local restaurants. Riverside Inn overlooks the Pine River where as Moonlite Bay & Zorbaz overlook Crosslake all open daily for Lunch at 11 am.

Take in some afternoon shopping at many of our eclectic shops. Passages of Time, Judy’s House of Gifts and Lake Country Crafts & Cones are among our favorites. Passages of Time has clothing, home décor and gifts all made in the USA, Judy’s House of Gifts has a variety of Collectibles and Specialty Items whereas Lake Country Crafts & Cones is home to 36 Flavors of Ice Cream a Coffee Shop and a Gift Shop.

After an afternoon of lunch and shopping head back to your room to rest & relax before getting ready to head back out on the town for dinner and drinks.

There are many dinner options to choose from in Crosslake. Manhattan’s Restaurant is attached to Manhattan Beach Lodge and is open: 4 – 10 pm Wednesday – Saturday and Sunday 2 – 8 pm November – May. Enjoy Happy Hour from 4 – 6pm before dinner where you can get ½ price rail cocktails, tap beer or wine and $2 off our special happy hour menu. Other options include Moonlite Bay, Riverside, Zorbaz and just outside of town is Norway Ridge.

After a delicious dinner head to Moonlite Bay for some dancing and drinks or Zorbaz for a game of pool. Don’t worry, Crosslake has a Shuttle Service that will get you where you want to go so you don’t have to drive.

After a day of shopping, dining, drinking and dancing head back to your room for a comfortable night’s sleep.

Manhattan Beach Lodge offers complimentary continental breakfast from 8 am – 10 am and serves waffles, muffins, yogurt, bagels, hard boiled eggs and coffee. Whitefish Lodge & Suites offers complimentary breakfast daily from 6 am – 10 am and offers the same as Manhattan Beach Lodge as well as omelets.

After you recharge on breakfast, enjoy a beautiful fall walk through the trees or rent a boat and head out on one of the 14 Lakes. If you come in the winter strap on a pair of our complimentary snow shoes and head out for a refreshing walk along the golf course or out on the lake.

When you have had your fill of the outdoors, head back to your lodge. At Whitefish Lodge you can enjoy a dip in our pool, whirlpool and relax in the sauna. At Manhattan Beach Lodge you can enjoy our whirlpool and sauna. Relax next to our lobby fireplaces or just take a refreshing nap.

Enjoy another evening out on the town or order in and enjoy dinner in the comfort of your room. Feel free to start up a fire in our fire pit. Both properties have one. Roast some s’mores or just sit back and let the dancing flames warm you.
